Eden Cope is a Detroit–based lighting designer with a BFA in Theatre Design & Technology from Wayne State University. With a background in performance and a deep love for storytelling, she approaches lighting not just as a technical craft, but as an emotional language—one that shapes atmosphere, supports narrative, and brings the unseen to life.
Eden’s design work is grounded in connection: to the narrative, the creative team, and the emotional core of each production. Her goal is always to craft lighting that deepens the audience’s experience and supports the vision of the piece.
Outside of the theatre, Eden brings that same sense of dedication and care to the ice rink. A former competitive hockey player, she now coaches youth hockey with a focus on empowerment, mentorship, and fostering inclusive spaces—especially for girls and young women in the sport. Her coaching philosophy is grounded in creating the kind of supportive environment she once wished for.
At the heart of everything Eden does—on stage or on the ice—is a drive to create experiences that feel intentional, collaborative, and deeply human.
